Job Title:Materials Quality EngineerJob Description:The Role:We are seeking a dynamic Senior Materials Quality Engineer (Supplier Quality) to provide a leadership role to our regional Taiwan supplier base and Taiwan manufacturing operations with a commitment to excellence and the energy to help develop a world class materials quality organization.This position is based out of Kaohsiung location. In this role you will report to a Global Manager based in Hsinchu, Taiwan and your primary responsibility will be to assess and manage supplier risk, performance, and improvement to ensure the continuity of the Entegris supply chain and our customer’s supply chain. You must be able to work with significant autonomy and independent judgement to achieve Global Supplier Quality goals and Entegris corporate goals and lead continuous improvement projects with our critical/strategic suppliers.You will also work closely with Procurement, Operations, R&D and Customer Quality for internal and customer issue resolution. You will have the interpersonal skills to develop strong working relationships with both internal customers and our critical/strategic suppliers to enable more effective supplier management and improvement of supplier performance.In this role you will:Support new product development and the existing supplier base to lead onsite assessment and qualification of materials suppliers, identifying gaps/opportunities, driving gap closure and continuous improvement actions/projects.Work with a Global team and support local and global issues if required.Understand the supplier’s processes and how the raw material has an impact on Entegris products and customers’ application.Be a subject matter and technical expert in raw material management and support Entegris corporate and division’s goals.Drive technical improvements and own technical reviews when required, working closely with R&DDrive advanced quality planning and process of record documentation with critical/strategic suppliers.Own supplier process control system reviews (SPC trend reviews, metrology/SPC systems reviews).Initiate, coordinate, drive and own if required supplier change notification through the Entegris internal change control system and supplier communication.Proactively assess supplier risk and plan for appropriate risk mitigation (business continuity planning) working closely with Procurement.Train suppliers on key supplier expectations and requirements such as Change Control.Anticipate potential supplier quality management problems and opportunities; assesses impacts and risks, proposes potential solutions.Drive supplier corrective actions and preventative actions to meet Entegris issue resolution expectations.Contribute to the development and improvement of the Entegris Supplier Quality Management System by identifying and proposing supplier quality management process and technical improvements to meet our industry and customer requirements.Traits we believe make a strong candidate:4 Year Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or EngineeringMS and/or PhD preferred.Six-Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred. Knowledge of statistical software like Minitab, JMP strongly preferred.The candidate should demonstrate a deep technical understanding of chemical manufacturing or plastic/metal fabrication manufacturing.Direct experience with supplier quality managementASQ Certification or equivalent preferred but not required.Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing, plastic fabrication, semiconductor manufacturing or related industryAbility to travel domestically and internationally, total travel up to 25%Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and have strong organizational skills.Strong project management and leadership skillsAbility to collaborate with cross functional departments.Ability to communicate fluently in Mandarin and EnglishYour success will be measured by:Be honest, trustworthy, respectful, and ethical in the actions.Build strong, collaborative working relationships with our colleagues.Commit to quality results.
