Reporting to: Marketing DirectorRole: PermanentWHAT IS THIS POSITION ABOUT?The Business and Strategic Insights Lead role is mainly responsible for heading and driving the business and strategic insights team to deliver commercially relevant, consumer-centric, and committed strategic feedback for the JTI Taiwan organization and its management team.The role will have a special focus owning the team in the following key territories:Ensuring the provision of consistent, reliable, and relevant high-quality business intelligence information & analysis (performance tracking, competitive intelligence, information system)Delivering commercially driven and actionable consumer & trade research insights
(Consumer tracking, consumer segmentation, pricing studies, and other ad hoc research initiatives for both RMC and RRP)Driving a continuous optimization and development of new business intelligence, research, analysis, and reporting tools & methodologiesAssume a key role in the organization's pricing strategy, forecast modeling, and comprehensive yearly planning process
(CR, SRP, and ASP)Talent development to enable a fit-for-future for the team and the organization.On a local level, this role will involve working cross-functionally and closely with senior stakeholders from Marketing, Sales, Finance, Legal, and CA&C, and report directly to the Marketing Director. Beyond the market, the incumbent assumes the responsibility as the key market SPOC for the APAC regional and Global SI counterparts.WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Research development and insights consolidation
- Consolidate internal research needs to develop proven & sound research plans for RMC and RRP.
- Own the team to develop research projects (Tracker, Segmentation, Pricing, NPLs, Trade, and other ad hoc studies) to provide insights and actionable recommendations to build the JTI brand & portfolio and trade strategy for RMC & RRP.
- Key POC for the communications with the regional & HQ SI team.
- Leading in planning & forecasting
- Led the team to deliver high-quality volume/SOM forecast in CR/SRP/ASP
- Scenario management: establishing pricing and market dynamics assumptions, and estimating volume/SOM and financial impact.
- Highly involved in the preparation of CR/SRP/ASP decks.
- Delivering high-quality performance tracking
- Ensure the SI team delivers high-quality and insightful tracking reports (7E, CVS weekly, MPM, Nielsen Plus, competitive intelligence..) promptly.
- Ensure all possible data resources (internal & external) can and are consolidated in the PBI platform and provide sales performance tracking for both RMC & RRP
- Evolving reporting systems to meet emerging needs
- Maintain an efficient reporting system and ensure the cross-functional analytic systems evolve with emerging business needs from different stakeholders.
- SI/BI talent development
- Understand the strengths and weaknesses of the SI/BI team and set up a development plan
- Improve commercial thinking capabilities for the team through relevant business topic analyses, participating in strategic discussions
- Work with the management team to find development opportunities (e.g. job rotation, new assignments).
- University or above. MBA, Statistics, and/or Economics background is preferred.
- At least 10+ years worked in developing commercial strategy, commercial planning, business intelligence analysis, and/or research with both international & local experience (desirable).
- Cross-cultural working experience is preferred.
- Fluent in English speaking, writing, reading, and listening. Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
- High levels of proven commercial and financial acumen
- Proven success in leadership, team player, effective in developing people, and communicating with various organizational functions.
- Concrete research, modeling, analysis, and planning experience with a proven track record of translating insights and information to actionable business implications, substantiated forecasting scenarios, and commercial strategy development.
