As the first point of contact for many foreign professionals in their plans to move to Taiwan, including application for visas and all sorts of questions after they arrive, we are looking for people who truly enjoy helping people through this process and want to do it full-time (or part-time). We handle email and phone requests from people all around the world to a central service center, and are able to liaise directly with the many government departments in finding the correct answers. You should have customer service experience, be internet familiar, and have an understanding of visa applications to Taiwan. You will need to have a high level of empathy, while also having a high level of restraint in understanding how to communicate difficult topics to people of different backgrounds. You will also need to be able to communicate and sympathize with service personnel at various government agencies. As you will be privy to the personal information and situations of many individuals, you will need to be comfortable with data privacy, and will be subject to nondisclosure agreements and random inspections of best practice. You should be fairly bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese, both written and spoken, with native fluency in one of the two languages, and professional ability in the other. We are also looking for someone with professional ability in Japanese. Our aim is to be the best source of information for professionals seeking to explore their future in Taiwan, as well as those who need looking to make it their home.We maintain one single website portal to all Taiwan visa information that is clear and easy to understand, for individuals and for their families, and our help desk will help answer general queries on life after your move to Taiwan, including employment, housing, banking, education, tax, and more.In October 2020, the National Development Council (NDC) set up the Taiwan Employment Gold Card project office to promote the flagship resident-work visa program under the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals. Contracted by the NDC, the Gold Card Office has been responsible for the marketing, recruitment, promotion, and servicing of the Gold Card program and its applicants, from before application to after they land in Taiwan. To date, over 8,000 cards have been issued to these highly qualified Foreign Special Professionals. From November 2023, in response to an ever-increasing need for attracting and retaining a foreign workforce, the Gold Card Office's scope has been expanded to become the International Talent Taiwan Office, a national-level promotion and service center for the recruitment & circulation of all Foreign Professionals. The Office's purpose is to be the best source of information for anyone seeking to explore their future in Taiwan, as well as those who need help making it their home.Besides providing one-stop for all visa information that is clear and easy to understand for individuals and their families, our help desk is able to answer general queries on life after you move to Taiwan including employment, housing, banking, education, tax, and more. Our TeamYou will be part of a small and enthusiastic team (currently 14 people but eventually expanding to 40) who work collaboratively on various tasks with the overall goal of making the Gold Card & Talent Taiwan program successful. We meet often with NDC and other government agencies, and function as a main feedback channel between the foreign professional community and the departments. As such, we play an integral role in Taiwan's recruitment initiative to significantly increase foreign talent to Taiwan by 2030 (with Presidential support no less!), and continues to be involved in shaping the future environment for expats in Taiwan. We work in a loosely bilingual environment; our meetings are mainly held in Mandarin Chinese (so you must be able to listen comprehensively), but much of our documentation may be in English. Our business culture is casual with western influences, while still containing some Taiwanese traditions. We abide by all Taiwan labor laws and provide national health insurance, pension contributions, and basic company insurance. What We Are Looking ForWe are looking for dedicated individuals who are strong team players and passionate about helping Taiwan.
