  • Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with system design and shipping consumer electronic products (e.g., handheld, mobile consumer electronics devices).
Experience in failure modeling of different classes of materials, adhesive, rubber, and flat display material. * Experience in testing methods using Universal Testing Machines, and Dynamic Mechanical Analysis.
  • Experience using modeling practices including model validation techniques.
  • Knowledge of structural simulation tools.
About the jobAs a member of a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team, you use your creativity and diverse range of engineering experience to explore solutions to a variety of engineering problems. As a mechanical engineer, you participate in the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts. You work in a manufacturing and product oriented development environment and collaborate with vendors and outside sources in order to see parts through to manufacture.Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful.   • Generate Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models of mechanical parts, modules, and assemblies.
  • Perform static, dynamic, structural, and thermal-mechanical analysis.
  • Own and drive material characterization and testing plans to support modeling efforts.
  • Drive failure analysis, root cause efforts, and design of experiments to resolve problems.
  • Own, drive, and execute consistent methods of modeling and analysis of modules/system level across programs.
