
Principal, Legal Counsel (Privacy & Data Protection)

- Provide legal opinion and conduct legal risk assessment relating to Privacy and Data Protection.
- Advise, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts with third parties on Privacy related issues.
- Maintain and update Privacy Policy, Plan and Notice.
- Manage Data Subject Right process with related teams.
- Review and update Privacy & Data Protection legal requirements.
- Handle Privacy & Data Protection Incident with related teams.
- Manage litigation and investigations that may arise in Taiwan.
- Serve as a legal resource to senior management team on Privacy issues and initiatives.
- Provide creative legal advice to the business promptly, reviewing lawsuits and legal affairs across all the company.
- Work closely and collaboratively with internal business partners on projects and company-wide initiatives. Demonstrate hands on experience but also the ability to handle and manage projects with other members of the team.
- Qualified lawyer in Taiwan or foreign qualified lawyer with extensive experience working in TW.
- At least 5+ years of post-qualification legal experience in Taiwan Privacy & Data Protection. A mixture of law firm and in-house experience is preferred.
- Exceptional ability to consistently deliver creative, thoughtful and business-oriented results that appropriately balance growth and risk in a fast-paced environment.
- A willingness to learn voraciously and take on new scope and challenges.
- Ability to adapt easily to rapid and diverse business changes.
- Sound judgement in developing and implementing legal solutions.
- Experience in handling Privacy & Data Protection Incident, Government Inspection and Data Subject Right cases.
- Ability to prioritize work in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in Mandarin (English preferred but not mandatory).
- Ability to work with ambiguous problems
- Strong communication skills - speaking, writing, presenting and negotiating.
- Capability to work through relevant government authorities on immediate legal issues the company is facing through existing networks or being able to quickly establish working network.
