Focus on optimizing patient access and outcomes by providing up-to-date compounds and disease area medical expertise, and leading across functions to address external and internal stakeholder needs. To shape and implement the Local and Global Therapeutic Area strategy through innovative integrated evidence generation with focus on partnership and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. To lead clinical development of the drug in close collaboration with Country, Regional, and Global team members.【Major Accountabilities】
‧ Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement the medical strategy for Therapeutic Area assigned to the MA by taking account of the latest country, regional and global developments, reflecting relevant patient, scientific and clinical insights.
‧ Lead early identification of strategic drivers, elaboration of patient journey, positioning, target population, the wider stakeholder population mapping and segmentation.
‧ Identifies opportunities for joint value creation through engagement with the key scientific leaders and other partners in the healthcare systems including Patients and Patient Associations to co-design strategies and studies, advocating in the assigned therapeutic area.
‧ Provides medical expertise and leadership to functional partners by working as a strategic partner in collaboration with, GDD teams (RA, TMO, CRMA), Marketing, Commercial, Patient Advocacy, Public Affairs where necessary, to ensure effective patient outcomes and access.
‧ Provide valid and timely interpretations of medical data from medical research in assigned Therapeutic Area and identify appropriate communication strategy for external and internal stakeholders.
‧ Identifies Real World Evidence (RWE) needs and utilizes implementation science and other innovative methodologies, to close the gap ensuring patient and clinical adoption and better outcomes. Responsible for local and global evidence generation submissions.
‧ Serve as local medical resource for disease area and compound/product training to Novartis associates.
‧ Engage Medical Experts and investigators in new clinical trials, identifying partners for future research collaboration.
‧ Ensure information and communications comply with all legal regulatory requirements local and global standards.
‧ Keep up to date with key developments in own assigned Therapeutic Areas, including relevant Novartis and competitor products and broader developments.
‧ Handle the assigned Medical Affairs projects.Ethics and Compliance
‧ Work within any given legal framework, Novartis Ethics and Compliance policies and ensure those around him/her do the same.
‧ Work to ensure a diverse and inclusive environment, free from all forms of discrimination and harassment.Role Requirements【Education】
MD, PharmD or PhD degree in health sciences【Language】
Fluent in English & Mandarin (Local Language) (Oral & Written)【Experience/Professional requirement】
1. Medical advisor or equivalent medical role experience
preferred
2. 5-year clinical medicine practice or pharmaceutical industrial
experience preferred
3. Good strategic thinking and planning skills.
4. Medical and scientific writing skills.
5. Knowledge of assigned therapeutic area with ability to
interact with relevant MEs.
6. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Familiar with drug development principles, GCP and relevant local regulations.
8. Knowledge of clinical trial design and statistics.
