Design Quality Engineer - Hybrid Solutions (Poly)Description -Position Summary:The Design Quality Engineer will provide leadership across the engineering organization for all quality initiatives. This individual will create and manage quality management systems and represent quality throughout the product lifecycle from definition and development to qualification and release.Program Team responsibilities are described here. The role of the Program Team is to ensure successful project execution through.Cross-functional project planning.Ensuring the completion of all project deliverables.Directing project activities to meet quality, functionality, cost, budget, and schedule objectives.Acting as a focal point for project communications to functional management and the Extended Team.Program Team (PT) Member Roles and Responsibilities：Works within Core TeamRepresents functional area with respect to product design and project management.Shares responsibility for team results.Resolves issues.Maintain ties to functional areaKeeps functional management informed.Applies function's strategies, tools, and standards.Coordinates with Extended TeamFacilitates information exchange.Responsibilities:Enforce Hardware Software and Firmware quality assurance processes across the organization.Document and enforce policy, procedures, and standards for product development and QAProvide leadership and assist with setting strategy/direction for Hardware Software and Firmware QA while driving quality improvement initiatives across the organization.Understanding of environmental, reliability and mechanical testing.Implement procedures to improve product quality and increase test efficiency including new test infrastructures and automation.Plan product system testing, Verification Test Matrix (VTM) strategy for assigned projects. Complete and maintain VTM. Test evaluation samples from Verification/Acceptance or other Builds.Manage program deliverables for Quality as per Poly’s Product Lifecycle Systems Process.Manage, prioritize, and execute project management tasks while balancing both project and extended quality function needs.Meet program needs, to include required cost targets and schedule commitments for all assigned projects.Determine scope test requirements and plan within the framework of a program while collaborating with other functions.Perform reviews of product requirements and functional specification.Conduct design reliability assessments, product quality assessment and execute in all phases of product life cycle including early design reliability assessments.Participate in development and/or revision of QA procedures, policies, and guidelines to obtain certification and ensure continued compliance to ISO9001.Develop, implement process for gathering quality metrics.Execute performance audits, inspections, quality reviews and root-cause analysis and Stop Orders as necessary.Contribute towards resolving supplier issues and device improvement recommendations.Drive Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), CVAA/VPAT, WEEE directive deliverablesParticipate in design reviews, Create PART evaluation plans, Review of First Article documentation and approval.Active Participation on Engineering Builds/Verification Builds/Acceptance Builds/Volume ShipmentsReview & Approve SpecificationsReview BOM and MarkingsWork with cross functional teams through the entire life cycle of product development including engineering, product and marketing management, manufacturing, outsourced vendors, and contractors.Create the QA Risk Assessments for product releases.Minimum Qualifications:Minimum of BS in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field.12+ Years of familiarity with new product development, or experiences.Strong Knowledge of QA processes and methods.Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills and experience collaborating across organizations.Strong background in project management, development, and testing.Experience with DOE, FMEA, 8D reports, CAPA practices and ISO requirements support and implementation.Well-versed in product development lifecycle, processes, quality methodologies and able to recommend process improvements.Strong Written and Spoken English 90% proficiency.Available to travel internationally (US or other countries).Ability to adapt to new tools and systems quickly.Independent problem solverDesired Qualifications:Technical knowledge of communication productsProven ability to resolve quality issues (national/global).Audio and/or Video experience.Software/Firmware development coding, Python, or experience in other scripting languages.Familiarity with Software/Firmware Quality activities: Experience or understanding of software quality assurance tools and processes.
