We don't rely on traditional research and development methods - we push the boundaries of what's possible through raw materials innovation principles and material science. Our team constantly innovates new materials and creates unique experiences our guests never knew they wanted. With your help, we can engineer new sensations and bring our guests together for an unforgettable experience. You will work on short-, mid-, and long-term projects to define the state of the art, lead research, build insight, generate unique points of view, create prototypes, and prove principles.A day in the life:You are a sustainability enthusiast committed to implementing innovative, eco-friendly textile finishing and colouring initiatives. You stay up-to-date with industry developments and collaborate with experts to design new techniques. Your strong science background helps you evaluate materials' performance and structure. You are driven to deliver excellence, think outside the box, and build a top-notch team to execute sustainable chemistries!
  • You have a passion for sustainability and strive to disrupt the negative impact of traditional textile production processes on the environment
  • You participate in various conferences and seminars to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements and keep your cross-functional team informed
  • You are capable of identifying and scouting early-stage startups and research groups that have the potential to become viable products for your organisation
  • You have established a network of technical experts and researchers in academia and industry
  • You leverage your knowledge of organic chemistry, structural patterns, and computer modelling programs to plan textile finishes and colours and stay current with the latest textile machinery, processes, and chemical developments
  • Your mathematical and computer science skills enable you to apply statistical techniques and analytical instrumentation methods to characterise the properties and performance of materials
  • You enjoy the challenge of designing and creating new fabric finishing and colouration techniques for new functionality and are comfortable adjusting previous designs of various finishes
  • You always put the guest first and know that success is found in attention to detail throughout the entire process
  • You bring an outside-the-box thinking approach to solving the textile chemistry industry's biggest problems and strive to create a vision to build a world-class team that would innovate and execute the best functional and sustainable chemistries to maintain your organisation's leadership position in the industry
Qualifications:
  • An advanced degree (PhD or Master's) in Textiles, Textile Chemistry, or a related discipline that emphasises chemistry, textiles, materials, or allied fields
  • At least 2-3 years of experience working on colouration and finishing for a brand or in a dyeing mill or textile chemistry supplier
  • Experience working on-site with manufacturers worldwide and a strong understanding of supply chain operations
  • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to communicate updates to both scientific and non-scientific stakeholders and present complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • A natural ability to lead and inspire others, with an analytical mind and a keen attention to detail
  • A strong focus on innovation and the ability to create effective solutions to complex problems, using a combination of critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Experience in creating intellectual property and a deep understanding of its importance
  • A commitment to putting the needs of the customer first and a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure their satisfaction
