- Strategic Alignment & Leadership:
- Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to understand business requirements, challenges, and strategic goals.
- Develop and execute a roadmap for SAP solutions that aligns with the overall business strategy.
- Provide leadership and direction to SAP teams, including functional analysts, technical developers, and project managers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders regarding SAP-related matters, managing expectations and ensuring clear communication.
- Oversee the governance of SAP systems and processes.
- SAP Implementation & Project/Program Management:
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of SAP projects, including new implementations, upgrades, and enhancement initiatives.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Coordinate internal resources, third-party vendors, and consultants to ensure project objectives are met.
- Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks and issues, and provide regular status updates to senior management.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, adhering to quality standards and best practices (e.g., SAP Activate methodology).
- Business Process Optimization & Improvement:
- Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation using SAP solutions.
- Work with business process owners and subject matter experts to design and implement optimized SAP-enabled business processes.
- Ensure SAP solutions adhere to best practices and maintain a "clean core" principle where possible, while still meeting business needs.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of implemented processes and drive continuous improvement.
- Team Management & Development (if applicable):
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals responsible for implementing and supporting SAP applications.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Conduct performance reviews and support the professional development of team members.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including department heads, business unit leaders, and end-users.
- Manage relationships with external SAP vendors, consultants, and service providers.
- Liaise with SAP and its ecosystem for updates, support, and strategic alignment.
- Change Management & Training:
- Develop and implement change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new SAP functionalities and processes.
- Oversee the development and delivery of training programs and materials for end-users.
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Manage the budget for SAP-related activities, including projects, licenses, and support.
- Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of resources.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience (typically 5-10+ years) in managing SAP projects, programs, or as an SAP Business/Functional Manager.
- Strong understanding of various SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, SD, MM, PP, SCM, HCM, ARIBA, BTP) and their integration points. Experience with SAP S/4HANA is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex SAP initiatives.
- Experience with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Technical & Functional Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of SAP architecture, implementation methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in business process analysis, design, and re-engineering.
- Understanding of SAP landscape management, including development, QA, and production environments.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).
- Experience with data migration and integration concepts within an SAP environment.
