
Senior Component Engineer

- Responsible for the categories of Cables & Wires, Display, Electromechanical (Antenna, Barcode Modules, Buzzer, Camera, Card Readers, Cooling, Security Mesh, Stylus, Switches) & PCB.
- Review New Part Requests from Engineering; including datasheet and parametric data analysis to identify existing component solutions and drive re-use
- Review incoming PCNs (Product Change Notifications) from manufacturers and their consequence; identifying equivalent parts via specification comparison and coordinated approval
- Perform data analysis on a list of parts to find areas for consolidation and be able to analyse/transform data into simplified graphics to identify trends, root causes, etc.
- Write reports, processes and procedures whilst being able to attend internal & external meetings and able to generate and talk through presentations where necessary
- Enthusiastically project manage technical issues from initiation through to closure, acting as a key point of contact for your category; providing datasheet/sample coordination and system support
- Qualified in an Electronic Engineering discipline or experienced in a similar role with knowledge of components and their sources
- Experienced using Agile PLM to create and handle Parts, Manufacturer Parts, BoMs and Change Orders
- Fluent with standard Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Experienced as a Component Engineer team member or meaningful experience; either technical (e.g. Design Engineer), or commercial (e.g. technical buyer)
- You hold a Degree in Electronic Engineering
- You are able to multitask, innovate and influence within a dynamic environment, with an eye for detail
- You have excellent interpersonal skills - oral and written, in person, by phone and email essential
- You have the ability to Travel internationally for periods of time (e.g. 1day to 2weeks)
- You are enthusiastic and keen to seek responsibility, with a strong and open work ethic
