- Support sourcing strategies for the assigned category in alignment with company goals, cost targets, product development timelines, and manufacturing plans.
- Conduct regular category reviews to assess supplier competitiveness, market trends, risk exposure, and innovation opportunities.
- Ensure category strategy supports both short-term execution and long-term business growth.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of category cost drivers, supply market dynamics, and technology trends.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including regular business reviews, supplier development plans.
- Lead supplier selection processes by defining sourcing criteria, issuing RFPs, coordinating cross-functional evaluations, and making recommendations based on cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and risk factors.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to ensure supply base competitiveness, innovation, and capacity resilience.
- Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure supplier capabilities align with technical and commercial requirements.
- Jointly define capability and performance gaps and collaborate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish structured improvement plans with key suppliers.
- Lead negotiation of pricing, tooling investments, capacity commitments, and commercial terms.
- Support cost analysis, benchmarking, and value engineering initiatives to meet savings targets while ensuring product and quality integrity.
- Lead contract management activities, including negotiation, execution, and ongoing compliance with commercial and legal terms.
- Maintain accurate supplier data and cost information within PLM, Oracle, and sourcing systems.
- 7+ years of experience in sourcing and procurement within the bicycle industry or a related manufacturing field.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiations, cost analysis, and contract management.
- Familiarity with global sourcing, supplier dynamics in Asia, and international trade practices
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing cost drivers, product cost breakdowns, and VA/VE (value analysis/value engineering) practices.
- Strong understanding of the bicycle industry supply chain, including vendor dynamics, manufacturing processes, and cost structures is a plus
- Strategic sourcing knowledge (e.g., category management, supplier segmentation)
- Negotiation and contract management
- Supplier relationship management (SRM)
- Data analysis skills (Excel, Power BI, or other analytics tools)
- ERP systems experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Coupa)
- CPSM – Certified Professional in Supply Management (ISM)
- CSCP – Certified Supply Chain Professional (APICS)
- CIPS – Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply
- Lean/Six Sigma certification for process improvement
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Analytical thinking and proactive problem-solving
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, quality, finance, and operations
- Project management and strategic mindset
- Willingness to travel 10–20% for supplier visits, factory audits, and industry events
