Test Lab EngineerSUMMARY The successful candidate will have a background in testing, knowledge of manufacturing and enjoy hands on work. The test lab engineer will perform static and dynamic tests to help evaluate if all design criteria are met before production approval. They will also assist in development of future tests, evaluation of tested components and the evaluation of any non-conformities discovered in testing. As a member of a small team, you will be expected to ‘wear many hats’ as we work together to develop industry-leading bikes!Job Responsibilities:· Test Lab Testing (20% of weekly workload)SBCT test lab development and day to day running.a. Coordinate testing requirements with the development team including test request setup, test priority, required fixtures and procedures.b. Clarify the test parameters and delivery to the test technician.c. Educate SBC employees in other departments as required about test standards, results and logic behind the tests.d. Work with supplier test lab to identify differences in fixtures and procedures and develop correction plans to correlate testing results.· Make lab test more accurate and efficient (30% of weekly workload)Assist lab to improve the current process:a. According to lab team members’ proposal find the solution to improve the issue.b. Find the process can be improved during the setup of the test.c. Based on field tests or returns, summarize the development test plan, review all test procedures, and optimize the test setup.· Project Development involve (50% of weekly workload)Assist SBC Engineering team with manufacturing development of projects:a. As assigned, review all new projects for potential fixture requirements with the project team. Ensure all new fixture designs are completed, sourced and approved for testing before first prototypes are ready for testing.b. Complete all inspection documents for new fixtures ensuring all fixtures meet drawing requirements and approve fixtures ensuring fit, form and function for proper testing.c. Create or update all associated work instructions and test documentation for any newly created fixtures.d. Collaborate with global design and test team to create test plans in testing kick-off meetings, push the document to appropriator life cycle.e. Review the 3D model with the Design Engineer (DE), identify potential risks, and determine which tests can be used for verification.f. Help with failure mode analysis, work with design engineers and material science engineers to identify the analysis process. Run cutting, thickness and hardness measurement, create an analysis report forward to development team as well.g. Collaborate with the global test team to update the test setup, ensure the test setup matches the use scenario. Developing the new test for new product, create a new test what we do not have.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO WIN:· College degree in engineer subjects (B.S. in engineering or manufacturing).· Minimum 3 years of practical engineering experience in testing or manufacturing roles, including:o Experience setting up and running tests with ability to follow documented procedures, operate and adjust machinery and fixtures as required.o Experience in basic manufacturing process including stamping, forging, extrusion, tube forming, heat treatment, injection molding, casting, welding alloy structures & machining of alloys and composites.o Ability to interpret test results and suggest solutions if the part does not meet requirements.· Proven experience creating and reading 2 dimensional drawings. You may also be required to modify or create new drawings or parts for new test fixtures.· Familiarity with part inspection including basic handheld inspection tools or CMM for first article inspection. You will need to inspect fixtures and tools making sure they meet drawing dimensions and tolerance.· Excellent spoken and written English.· Ability to perform job responsibilities with limited supervision.· This position requires full time residency at Taichung , Taiwan with may have chance travel to Vietnam or China or USA.· Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD. With an ability to learn Agile, PLM and PTC/Creo software· Avid cyclists and good bike mechanics preferred.
