Field Applications Engineering - ACIPGeneral Summary:Qualcomm is seeking a Sr Staff Field Application Engineer to join their IE-IOT team in Taiwan. This role involves working with highly motivated engineers and industrial players in the Taiwan region for designing & developing system on modules and products based on Qualcomm's IoT-focused SoCs.The position requires expertise in embedded systems and will focus on supporting customers with Qualcomm's cutting-edge AI, machine learning, computer vision, security, and wireless technologies. You'll be responsible for understanding customer requirements, communicating with internal teams, and helping external stakeholders implement their applications on Qualcomm platforms.Key technical areas include experience with embedded systems and familiarity with various operating systems including Android, Linux, Ubuntu, and Windows. The role involves both technical support and project management aspects, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse teams.This position offers the opportunity to work with leading technology experts in the industry while helping shape the future of IoT and embedded systems. The role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, making it ideal for engineers who excel in both technical implementation and stakeholder management.Key Responsibilities:

Support execution of Qualcomm's IE-IOT market development strategy
Assist in evaluation and PoC of devices through technical engagement
Help external stakeholders port applications on Qualcomm SoC systems
Provide technical deep dive and practical training to customers
Collaborate with Business Development and Product Marketing

Key Requirements:

Master's/Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science related field
5+ years of experience in Industrial and Embedded IOT field
Familiar with embedded systems running complex OS like Ubuntu, Yocto Linux, Windows and Android
Experience and understanding in application processors related to IOT devices
Solid understanding of computer system architecture
Must demonstrate communication skills in English (both oral and written)

Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field and 6+ years of Field Application Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field and 5+ years of Field Application Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field and 4+ years of Field Application Engineering or related work experience.Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
12+ years of Field Application Engineering or related work experience.
3+ years of experience in relevant engineering areas such as hardware design, systems design, software programming, etc.
3+ years of experience in a sales or customer-facing role.

3+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
2+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
1+ year of working with operating budgets and/or project financials.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Leverages advanced Field Application Engineering knowledge and experience to provide highly visible customer support through the design, development, and adoption of products (e.g., hardware, software, RF, XR, IOT, etc.).

Serves as company liaison on highly critical administrative/technical matters and instructs customers on the design, development, selection, and use of highly advanced system architectures and equipment.

Collects, addresses, and informs appropriate Business Units of highly critical feedback from customers regarding the quality, applicability, and definition of products.

Collaborates with cross functional teams (e.g., sales team, etc.) in assessing the application of company products to meet customer needs, preparing product specifications for the development and implementation of highly critical customer applications/solutions, and achieving annual sales targets for designated products and solutions.

Develops and delivers highly complicated or specialized product demos or presentations for customers and partners.

Level of Responsibility:

Works independently with minimal supervision.
Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.

Decision-making is significant in nature and affects work beyond immediate work group.
Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions.
Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
