The engineering team is distributed across multiple countries, working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Database Reliability Engineer to join the global engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, securing, and optimizing mission-critical database systems that power high-availability, large-scale applications. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across distributed, multicultural teams.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitect & Optimize – Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant database infrastructure for bare-metal and hybrid environments.Performance & Reliability – Monitor, profile, and fine-tune database performance, queries, and schema for optimal stability.Security & Compliance – Manage database access controls, perform patching and upgrades, and proactively address vulnerabilities.Automation – Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions to automate provisioning, configuration, schema migration, and disaster recovery.Observability – Integrate performance and health metrics into existing monitoring platforms, set proactive alerts, and ensure predictable database changes via CI/CD pipelines.Incident Management – Lead troubleshooting of critical production database issues to minimize downtime.Collaboration – Work closely with engineering, product, and IT operations teams worldwide to deliver reliable database solutions.Knowledge Sharing – Mentor junior and mid-level engineers in database best practices and operational excellence.Qualifications5+ years of experience in database administration, performance tuning, and high-availability design.Proficiency in at least one major database platform (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL, or Oracle) with strong query optimization skills.Hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD integration.Solid understanding of disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and observability frameworks.Experience in securing database environments and implementing access control best practices.Excellent communication skills to work effectively with global, cross-functional teams
