We strive for execution excellence while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives.AMD together we advance_Product Development Engineer (T-SQL)THE ROLE:As a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) and Product Development Engineer for GOQ Business Intelligence, you will undertake the execution of technically complex data and analytics initiatives within Global Operations Quality (GOQ). Your responsibilities encompass solution design, advanced data modeling, and stakeholder engagement to develop scalable data products that enhance operational performance and support data-driven decision-making.THE PERSON:Your responsibilities encompass solution design, advanced data modeling, and stakeholder engagement to develop scalable data products that enhance operational performance and support data-driven decision-making.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and implement scalable data solutions across GOQ domains, integrating with enterprise systems and subject areas.
  • Develop and maintain data models, data warehouse structures, and ETL design patterns to support analytics and reporting.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications; identify opportunities to streamline and scale operations.
  • Deliver data products using Agile methodology, including dashboards, KPIs, and reports via Power BI, Excel, and other BI tools.
  • Evaluate and profile new data sources for quality and structure; ensure alignment with AMD’s data governance standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment on requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Accountable for interdependent processes and outcomes.
  • Provide technical guidance and influence across teams; mentor junior staff as needed.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Mastery of data architecture, relational and analytical databases, and BI platforms.
  • High proficiency in SQL, Python, T-SQL, OLAP, and RDBMS platforms (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Server, SSAS).
  • Strong experience in data modeling, data warehouse design, and ETL development.
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools (Power BI, ThoughtSpot, Excel) and modern data stack components (DBT, Databricks, Azure).
  • Familiarity with Agile project management and DevOps practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills; able to collaborate across time zones.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelors or Master’s in computer engineering or computer science or electrical engineering, or comparable disciplines
